Skateparks are finally starting to pop up all over Britain, some in the most unlikely of places. Some councils are awesome and have gone to great lengths to provide park facilities for skaters, bmxers et al but it seems that others just aren’t trying very hard at all, my local council, Swansea, for example. Efforts have been made for many years to sort something out but nothing has been achieved, this isn’t entirely the councils fault though! Skaters need to pull their finger out and make it known that they need a park, they need to turn up to meetings, write letters, contact the paper etc.

Anyone out there that lives in a city without a skatepark needs to watch the videos below of the amazing parks being built by Maverick Industries around the UK. Maverick are absolutely killing it with their parks, the designs are second to none and if you want something like this to skate then get in contact with Maverick on any of the links at the bottom.

We are now running an ongoing monthly photo competition on Flickr, all you have to do is add your photos to our group pool and you’ll be in with the chance of winning a 10% discount code to use on our website! We will pick our favourite photo each month and contact you with your code as well as feature your photo on here.

To kick off the competition Skullcandy have very generously given us an Audio Link backpack worth over £100 for our favourite photo in April. The backpack has got built in speakers so you just plug in your iPod or other MP3/CD player and blast out the latest tracks by Lionel Richie or whatever the hell it is you crazy kids are playing this week.

Yeah, I know this video is old but it’s still bonkers! Front flipping a bike at any time is just plain stupid but to do it down a set of steps is just insania!

This weekend I will be getting a train up to Bristol, going to get my photo taken, then riding my bike all day before going to see Why? at The Thekla. I will then sleep over at Jason’s pad before cycling from Bristol to Cardiff on Sunday morning, riding around with Paul then meeting up with Kerry and Owen to go and see Until the Light Takes Us. FUN PACKED! All this is dependent on the rain though :-(
