Just a quickie to say that we now have a pretty good range of kids skate and surf clothing and shoes online. This is the first season we have had youth clothing in the webshop so it would be great to have some feedback about what we’ve got and what you would like us to get. After a long and painful wait the Skullcandy collaboration with the NBA has hit UK soil. Back when I was 12-14 (’93-’95) I was well into basketball, this was a time when you couldn’t even get an orange basketball in town, you had to order them from one of the magazines and had to stay up until 4am to catch a match on the TV. I also got  into skating at the same time and split my time equally between both of my very cool pastimes, in the end I decided to go the skate route (a pretty good decision cause I stopped growing when I hit 5’9), check out the video below (I did NOT choose the song!)  where you can see me skating in my Nike b-ball vest, during the crossover ‘which path should I follow’ phase.

We recently took delivery of a relatively new brand in the form of Sutsu. You may not have heard of it yet but we reckon it’s gonna grow pretty quickly. They can do a much better job of describing themselves than I can so here’s what they say:

“Sutsu was born from a single basic ideal… to create a progressive boardsport brand, which has a positive commitment to all that it touches. That includes you, the riders, donning the clothes, our factory staff and most importantly mother earth that gives us the raw materials. As much as we can we aim to make clothes that are design driven but that use sustainable or organic materials”.

I’m sure we all agree that it is becoming more and more important to support brands with a conscience, a lot of the big names are putting out organic ranges now but it’s even better to see someone that is not prepared to compromise at all simply to make more money.

Ethically produced, Fairtrade, organic, they are all buzz words that have not always been associated with good design but Sutsu is very much the exception to the rule. Their branding is clean and their graphics are slick. It’s a company to watch, mark my words.
