I thought I’d just share a few things from the part of the shop that most of you will never see. There’s nothing overly exciting out the back and up the stairs but here are a few things.

This weekend I will be getting a train up to Bristol, going to get my photo taken, then riding my bike all day before going to see Why? at The Thekla. I will then sleep over at Jason’s pad before cycling from Bristol to Cardiff on Sunday morning, riding around with Paul then meeting up with Kerry and Owen to go and see Until the Light Takes Us. FUN PACKED! All this is dependent on the rain though :-(

I was having a bit of a tidy up around the studio/stockroom yesterday and came across a bunch of old point of sale. You may want to sit down before reading the next part of this story…

There ON THE FLOOR was a Vans carboard cutout of Tony Trujillo and John Cardiel which was no big deal but then I noticed that it was autographed by them!!! Autographed by John Cardiel and on the floor, I nearly started to cry ;-) It now has pride of place on the shelf above my desk and will stay loved for the rest of time. I wonder what other goodies are hidden around the place here that would break Ev’s heart…

I splashed out and re-instated my Flickr pro account earlier today, it’s nice to have the couple of thousand hidden photos back including these skate shots from over the last few years. I can’t wait until the summer to get out shooting more regularly again! If you want to see more then go to my Flickr set.

Some of you may know that one of our guys in the shop, Sam, plays the drums in a great progressive sludge rock band called Suns of Thunder. If you’re from South Wales you will probably already have caught them somewhere as they play pretty damned regularly. If you haven’t seen them play live then go to their Myspace and add them as a friend so you’ll know when they are gonna be in your town.

With influences ranging from Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Clutch, Acrimony, Neurosis, Otis Redding, Bill Bailey and even the one and only Brian Blessed they have something for everyone. If you’re into these bands then you will love them, if you aren’t then have a listen anyway and post in the comments what you think.
