Well, it’s been a long time coming (to say the least) but the Skullcandy Aviator headphones are finally available in the UK. These are probably the most sought after headphones Skullcandy have ever produced and rightly so, they are HOT! Gone are the grungy aesthetics the brand is known for, instead these look more like something out of a Scandinavian design magazine with their sleek outline and elegant minimalism across the three available colours: white, black, and brown.

The Aviators are a high end product featuring large 40mm drivers that back up the good looks, avguide.com had this to say “A brief listen suggested to me that the Aviator is, as advertised, an audiophile-grade headphone that should offer healthy competition for Monster Cable’s almost identically priced Beats by Dre Solo headphones.”

All three colours are up for pre-order and shipping in March.

Here’s a little sneak peek at some of the new Skullcandy headphones for 2010, they have refined their graphics and colours into something even better than before. Like John Peel said about The Fall “they are always different, they are always the same”, Skullcandy is very much like that, each year they tweak and mould their earphones into something a little bit different but retain their great quality and sound. Personally I think 2010 is their best offering to date.

After a long and painful wait the Skullcandy collaboration with the NBA has hit UK soil. Back when I was 12-14 (’93-’95) I was well into basketball, this was a time when you couldn’t even get an orange basketball in town, you had to order them from one of the magazines and had to stay up until 4am to catch a match on the TV. I also got  into skating at the same time and split my time equally between both of my very cool pastimes, in the end I decided to go the skate route (a pretty good decision cause I stopped growing when I hit 5’9), check out the video below (I did NOT choose the song!)  where you can see me skating in my Nike b-ball vest, during the crossover ‘which path should I follow’ phase.
